Had served for three years in the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry
5 feet 7 inches in height, 10 stones in weight, he had a fresh complexion, grey eyes and brown hair
He served at Gallipoli for about a month before being wounded in the right thigh on the 10th May 1915, and he was evacuated to a convalescent camp in Alexandria, Egypt. At some point in July, 1915, he returned, via Mudros, to Gallipoli and was killed in action there.
Upon his death, the personal effects returned to his father included an identity disc, a damaged wristwatch, a testament and a military book.
